Welcome New Owners
A note from us regarding becoming a new owner of a Georgia Bearded Dragon™

Hello and we welcome you as a new owner of a Georgia Bearded Dragon™

Bearded Dragons are fast becoming one of the most popular pet reptiles in today’s growing reptile pet market. Their needs are simple, but if not provided for correctly, as with any reptile, they can become ill which can result in death.

Georgia Bearded Dragons™ is a small family owned private breeding program.that has become known nationally for the beauty of the dragons we produce, We are happy to share with you what has been successful for us and that you have found our bearded dragons meet your special needs. Our bearded dragons make an excellent addition to any family as a new exotic pet or as an addition to your existing bearded dragon collection or existing breeding program. We hand raised all of our bearded dragons andd their needs are simple if you follow the basic guide. .

Georgia Bearded Dragons™ has put together an owners "Dragon Care Manual" as an informational guide to help our bearded dragon owners adjust and understand the requirements needed in the proper care of their new bearded dragon. This information is being provided as a helpful source of information as there are many varying opinions among different breeders in the industry. Please be sure to read the SUBSTRATE ISSUES page and the CAGE SET UP page, as well as all pages on our website to gather the much needed educational material for raising and keeping a healthy dragon. All dragons should have a routine "well check" vet visit  about seven months olf age and then again at about 12 months. After those initial visits a once a year check-up is needed before your dragon goes into brumation. This is  to check for parasites or worms which they can acquire thought their feeder crickets amd can build up in your dragons system during the brumation period where he won't be eating or popping. It is normal to have a small level of parasites in their system but if your dragon stresses and goes off feed this is an indication that a parisite load may have spiked to an unhealty amount and a vet check is needed. The health of your dragon is at risk if this occurs without treatment and  may require a simple dose of medication.

We are not veterinarians, just lovers of bearded dragons. Only your veterinarian can best treat your individual bearded dragon on a case by case basis. The information we are providing is based on what has worked best for us at Georgia Bearded Dragons™. Once you become familiar with your individual dragon, then you can determine what works best for you and specifically your bearded dragon. Each dragon develops their own personalities, characteristics, likes and dislikes and as a new owner you will learn those over the course of time.Their will be an adjustment period for your dragon to get acclimated to it's new enclsoure and this can take up to ten days or two weeks..

We suggest you do some research, and gather as much information about Bearded Dragons as you can in order to educate yourself on how to best provide your new bearded dragon the best possible care." The Bearded Dragon Manual" is one of the top of the line books availabile.. This is a book that is a "must have" and is available at most pet stores and other book stores.

There are many different breeders offering various opinions and views based on their own experiences. You can learn almost everything from our site and "The Bearded Dragona Manual", "Substrate Issues", amd "Cage Set-Up" guidelines..

We look forward to being able to serve your needs in the future with our special hand-raised and individually cared for various unique "color morph"  Inland Bearded Dragons.

Sincerely,

Michael and Wendy
