Showing Attitude
This little guy was giving us his ferocious "don't mess with me" pose.
A bearded dragon will exhibit this behavior when they are startled or frighted of something or someone. They will flair out their rib cage to become flat and spread out as well as showing out with a "ferocious" face. This is a defensive posture.
Occasionally one of our juveniles will exhibit this behavior when they first hatch out of the egg. We like to laugh about it and call it the "T-Rex" syndrome. Meaning this little dragon came out of his egg thinking he was a T-Rex dinosaur and is big and bad.
